PNGOC announces new vision and constitution

first_imgThe PNGOC’s vision for 2016-2020 is ‘Inspire and Unite Papua New Guineans through sorting excellence and success’.This was made known at the PNGOC’s Annual General Assembly (AGA) by president Sir John Dawanincura.Also announced was the new constitution that requires member Federations to be incorporated with voting rights. A transitional period of 18 months will allow existing unincorporated national federations to incorporate and automatically become members.The AGA also saw the re-election of PNGOC executives which included Sir John Dawanincura retaining his position as president for a second term.All the other executives also retained their positions unopposed on the board except for the position of male vice-president, with Michael Henao as the new member.Richard Kassman did not seek re-election to the position.Dawanincura acknowledged Kassman for his contribution to PNGOC during the last term.He said during his tenure, Kassman played an important role leading Team PNG as the Chef de Mission for the Pacific Games and the Pacific Mini Games in 2013.“We thank Richard for his time and commitment as a member of the board and for his contribution towards Team PNG’s success, and we wish him all the very best in his future endeavours,” said Dawanincura.last_img read more
